Slumber Party To Impress
Throwing A Great Slumber Party
Not all girls are into the idea of slumber parties, but many love to have these when they are young. There can be nothing more exciting than having some friends over to talk and giggle all night long. When the time comes for you to host a slumber party for your daughter, there are some things you can do to be sure everyone has a good time while they are in your home. These are all simple things that can make all of the difference in the success of the party.
The first thing you should do is to pick a date and then help your daughter make up some very cool invitations to her slumber party. Even if she is only have one or two friends over, this can be a lot of fun for her and her friends. Use some of the same things that people who scrapbook may use to come up with something truly original. You want to help your daughter with this rather than doing it for her. She has more of an idea of what is cool than you do, no matter how young you feel.
Though you should always be there when the slumber party is going on, you can do a few things to allow them to have some privacy. You know girls love to talk, and laughter is one of their favorite things, but they have a hard time loosening up with some adults around. Give them their privacy for their slumber party, but remind them that you are still there. You may even want to allow them to order out the food of their choice. You can also allow them to eat it in the bedroom, even if this is usually a no-no. That makes the slumber party all the more special.
You can also come up with some special ideas for the slumber party. You can rent movies, or you can be sure that there are tons of snacks on hand. Allow them to stay up a bit later, and tell them that they can raid the fridge if they are hungry later in the night. Keep the rules easy, as a slumber party should always be fun, but remind them that you won’t accept any bad behavior that they can not do any other time. Never allow drinking for older kids, even if you think they’ll be safe because they are in your house. That can be a huge mistake that you all regret.
